Polk, Columbia is home to a variety of historic sites and museums. In downtown Columbia, the James K. Polk Home & Museum, 8.9 miles away, is a great place to learn about the life and history of one of our Presidents. Just down the street from the Polk Museum is the Athenaeum Rectory. Built in 1837, the former rectory is now a museum dedicated to the history of the two all-girl schools it served. Only 9.2 miles from Red Roof.
Civil War enthusiasts will enjoy tracing the footsteps of Hood's Campaign of 1864. Throughout Columbia, you’ll find markers at key sites that tell the story of significant events from this pivotal chapter in history.
